Mount or hang your birdhouse 5 to
15 feet high for most birds. Your birdhouse will need annual
maintenance, so be sure you can reach it easily. Attach it to a sturdy
base, either a wall, tree, fence, or post. If hanging your birdhouse, be
sure to use a strong material to prevent it from swaying
Care and Maintenance:
For the health of the birds, and to allow new birds room, a birdhouse
should be cleaned once every season. For this purpose, our birdhouses
have an easy access side door. To clean your birdhouse wait until chicks
have left the nest for good. Remove any old nesting material and scrub
the inside with mild soap and hot water.
Where's the perch???
Perches are not necessary, in fact perches allow easy access to
predators. All cavity nesters have strong feet and can easily cling to
vertical wooden surfaces |
